A memorial service to celebrate Josh’s life will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold Street, Three Rivers, MI 49093.

Obituary Notice

Joshua Adam Dean, age 39, of Three Rivers, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2022. He was born to Melvin Dean and Julie (Summers) Smith on January 8, 1983 in Bremen, Indiana.

Joshua attended Three Rivers Community Schools and later earned his high school diploma through online studies. This and his current employment with Precision Wire showed his dedication to finding his way in a world that had been full of obstacles and struggles. He was one to never give up.

Josh was an avid sports fan. His love for the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bulls, especially Michael Jordan, was immense. His love for all things Notre Dame was colossal. If there was a ball involved, he loved being involved.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father Melvin, paternal grandparents Billy & Eleanor Middleton of Boonville, IN, maternal grandparents Sandra Swartzentruber of Mendon and William “Bill” Summers of Three Rivers.

Joshua leaves to cherish his loving memory, three daughters, Taylor Farris of Portage, Abigail and Keagan Dean of South Carolina, and one son, Deaconn Dean; Mom and stepdad, Julie and Tracy Smith of Three Rivers; three sisters, Stephanie (Brent) Gardner of Shipshewana, Monica Dean of Three Rivers, Mercedes Smith of Fort Wayne, IN; three brothers, Mitchell Smith of Boston, MA, William “Hunter” and Ashton Smith both of Three Rivers; Grandmother, Bonnie Summers of Three Rivers and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Additional Information

Memorial donations in memory of Joshua may be directed to Hohner Funeral Home, in care of arrangements. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

  1. you know it’s crazy how fast life can change in the blink of an eye. You were just texting me asking how I was doing because I hadn’t been home to visit in a while.. I told you I would come visit soon but I was to late.. That will sit with me forever… I love you Uncle Josh forever and always until we meet again ❤️

      I will miss you forever. My love for you will always be in my heart.
      It’s been one of the hardest thing my life to face .Living the rest of my life without you.
      When we were apart I still felt your energy. It made things easier through our bad times. but losing you made me. feel so empty inside.
      I’m praying to God to help me go through this I love you Josh!
