Service Details

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Hohner Funeral Home of Three Rivers, MI on Saturday, June 22, 2019 with an hour of visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. and a funeral service starting at 12:00 noon with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating. Interment will be held at White Pigeon Cemetery following the service.

Obituary Notice

Linda Lou Ivins, age 66, of Marcellus, Michigan passed away late Friday evening June 7, 2019 at Borgess Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1952, in Three Rivers, the daughter of the late Robert and Vivian (Houldsworth) Bishop.

Linda graduated from Cedarville High School in 1971. She then moved to Three Rivers where she attended Glenn Oaks Community College, graduating in 1972 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Linda worked at Borgess Hospital for over 30 years.

On July 14, 1973 she married Robert J. Ivins at 9th Street Methodist Church in Three Rivers. Together they have three children: Kurt (Abby) Ivins, Darrick (Jody) Ivins, and Rebecca “Becky” (Lowell Wilson) Ivins, siblings: Jim (Myriam) Bishop and Ann Carpenter; sister in-law: Marge Bishop; grandchildren: Macy, Maya, Bentley, Brynley, Berkley, Max, Margo, and Audrey Wilson.

Linda enjoyed camping, traveling, and quilting. She could always be found following her grandchildren’s many sporting activities.

She is preceded in her passing by her brother Robert Bishop, Jr.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Linda’s memory consider The Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home.

  1. Sorry to hear about your wife. I know you two love each other so much. Although she’s not with you physically you will always carry her in your heart. When something reminds you of Linda as time goes on it brings you a peace and a smile to get you through. Thinking of you and miss working with you.

I worked with Linda for many years at Borgess.I admired her very much.I enjoyed working with her and the workplace was a better place with her in it.She was always happy,kind,caring,thoughtfull,what a special person she was.My prayers are with her Family,she will be dearly missed.I loved working with her and her patients loved her too.

  3. Bobby, I’m so sorry about Linda, she was a great person, I have known you both for a lot of years and have great memories of the two of you. All I can say is take it one day at a time.

  4. Linda was a beautiful person. I remember her laughter and kindness. We used to work together at Borgess many moons ago.

  6. Linda was a great gal. Everyone loved working with her. She had a great sense of humor, and a very caring personality. She was always happy, and brought that to her coworkers and her patients. She was fun, kind and not easily rattled. I know she will be sorely missed by all that knew her, but espr silly by her husband, children and grandchildren. Thinking of you al, during this difficult time. Heart felt condolences .

  7. Bob, I’m so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. I will cherish all the good times we all shared camping up north years ago. She was such a kind and caring person and will be greatly missed. I know she’s in a better place now and we’ll all meet again someday. If you need anything, please let me know. Sending prayers for strength and comfort for you and your family.

    • There are many fond memories of Linda. She was not only a caring nurse to her patients but she could always create an atmosphere of fun with her great sense of humor. Rest well Linda, we miss you.
