Obituary Notice
Linda Sue Phillips, 78, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at her home.
She was born March 18, 1948 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Alko and Gladys (Dyksterhouse) Slater, and graduated from Loy Norrix High School.
In 1966 Linda married Gary Phillips in Kalamazoo, and they settled in Cooper Township. As they raised their four boys in Kalamazoo, she was the ultimate homemaker.
Around 2000 they moved to their home near Corey Lake and Linda went to work as a paraprofessional in special education for the Three Rivers Community Schools. She also enjoyed working and making friends at the Swiss Valley Ski Area and Corey Lake Orchards.
Linda built lasting friendships and was constantly checking on her friends and neighbors, always there to lend a helping hand. No matter the distance between them, she made sure to stay close with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sleepovers with “Gigi” & PaPa were a big hit.
Her life was a perfect representation of someone who would go with the flow, but carried the world.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary Phillips; sons, Brad Phillips, Kevin (Carrie) Phillips, and Wade Phillips; daughter-in-law, Cathy Phillips; grandchildren, Jacob (Angela) Phillips, Lindsey (Tyler) Ellis, Bryant Phillips, and Daryl Marinkovich; great-grandchildren, Katherine, Braxton, Wyatt, Ezra, Harrison, Ava, Findley, and Forest; sister, Sharon Williams; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Ron Phillips.

Donations in Linda’s memory may be given to her family in care of Gary Phillips.

Gary, I’m thinking of you and your family today. I remember Linda like it was yesterday. I went through this 52 years ago. May the lord be with you and your family at this most difficult time. Just remember she’s with Jesus and her loved ones now. Will be praying for you in the coming days. God bless you.
Our Heartfelt sympathy to the Phillips Family. What a Special Lady Linda was, always made you feel at home, had a Hug for you and also a kind word. May the Lord give all of you strength and grace for the days ahead. Keeping you in our prayers and may it comfort you knowing Ron and David were right there with the Lord to Welcome Her Home. God Bless, the Bannow Family.

Dearest Gary…. I am so sorry to hear the news that Linda has left you and yours…Sometimes things just happen, here one minute, gone the next…not an easy thing to understand. I have known you and your family for many years, with Georgia being my forever friend. I can remember Linda when she was pregnant with the twins…boy was she HUGE!!!! But always with a smile and laughter that lit up the room. She was a very loving and caring person, which I feel blessed to have known. May the lord bless and keep you , with guidance through your difficult times…. HUGS, Irene Elferink Irwin
