Obituary Notice

Marjorie Rose Yost, age 82, of Three Rivers, MI peacefully passed away at Three Rivers Health on Sunday, April 26, 2020. She was born in South Bend, IN to Myron and Arlene (Senff) Smith.

Marjorie’s range of work throughout her life varied immensely from Telephone Operator to Textile Sewer of White Hall hospital gowns, Dr. Denton PJ’s and sweaters. From cooking for the elderly at Commission on Aging, to cooking Dunkin Donuts. She even worked in factories like Ball-Band Rubber and Republic Roller. Her best work was in servicing others like when she was a Home Health Care provider. She made lasting relationships with the families even after her elderly patients were gone.

Her most challenging and rewarding work was that of a mother of six. It molded her character, strengthened her to the core, and helped shape the extraordinary woman that she was. Through the tough times, it was her faith in GOD that gave her the strength to persevere.

As her family expanded, she became a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her fun-loving and quirky nature made her the favorite cousin, aunt, friend’s Mom, and smiling stranger; a friend to all who knew her. Her life is truly a testimony of selfless acts of kindness and generosity to others, in giving all she had.

Marjorie is preceded in her passing by her parents Myron, Arlene (Senff), Enid (step) Smith, her siblings Vivian, Walter, Mona, her ex-husband Don Yost Sr. and her grandson Bruce Yost.

Left to cherish Marjorie’s loving memory are her children: Don Jr. (Deb), John (Theresa), Joe (Jeri), Richard (Crystal), Kathy (Keith) Kalinoski, and Kevin (Donna). She also is survived by her 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
