Obituary Notice
Michael Robert Stumpf, 68, of Three Rivers, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Centrica Rose Arbor Place, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 16, 1957, in Three Rivers, the son of Robert and Dolores (Martin) Stumpf, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1977.
Mike’s first job was at D amores Berry Farm at the age of 13. He later worked alongside his father at Stumpf Construction, helping build custom homes and learning the value of hard work from an early age. He went on to spend more than 30 years at Armstrong International in assembly and manufacturing, where he ultimately retired. Throughout his career, Mike took great pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.
In 1997, he married the love of his life Jeanne Gibson, and together they shared 29 beautiful years. They enjoyed vacationing with family in the Caribbean, visiting the Floridian beaches, spending time with their friends and family, and adoring their grandsons. Above all else, they cherished the time they spent together, finding their greatest joy simply in each other’s presence.
Mike was a member of Three Rivers Bible Church, the Three Rivers Elks, and the Three Rivers Eagles. He also attended exercise classes at the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging.
Mike enjoyed collecting watches and took pride in his collection. He loved relaxing at the pool and spending time in both Michigan and Florida, where he had built many lasting friendships over the years. He had an infectious smile and a genuine way of making friends with everyone he met. Above all else, he deeply cherished his family, who were the center of his world and brought him his greatest joy.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his mother, Dodie Stumpf; wife, Jeanne Stumpf; sons, Tommy Byers and Jeremy Byers; daughter, Amanda (Jeremy) Warne; grandchildren, Derek Lebron, Dominik Warne, and Connor Byers; sister, Karen (Tom) Darby; and lifelong best friend, Edard English.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stumpf.
