Service Details

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. Funeral service will be Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home with Fr. R. Mathias assisting in prayer services. Burial will follow in Poe’s Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Michelle Lynn (Jacobs) Troup, 54, passed peacefully in her home early Friday morning on April 30, 2021. Michelle was born to Clarence “Pete” Jacobs and Judith (Westphal) Jacobs on March 8, 1967. She graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1985. On August 11, 1995, she married Boyd Douglas “Doug” Troup.

Michelle enjoyed ceramic painting, flower gardening, and feeding her swarm of hummingbirds during the warm months. She also enjoyed driving her father’s classic cars and spending her time with her family and friends. Michelle was known for her kindness, strength and fortitude, and her short temper, lovingly earning her the nickname “Pete Jr.” after her father.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Boyd “Doug” Troup; mother, Judith Ann (Westphal) Jacobs; brother, Michael (Joni) Jacobs; and two nieces, Katie Lynn and Annie Marie Jacobs. She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence “Pete” Jacobs; aunt, Elaine (Jacobs) Helzer; cousins, John D. Paris and Rochelle (Kent) Young.

Michelle was a beloved and devoted daughter, wife, sister and aunt.

  1. Shelly was a childhood friend and I’m so saddened to hear about her passing. So while this is very overdue please know those childhood memories are sweeter because of her friendship. She was a truly sweet and kind person. I would see her at the annual Poe Cemetery Memorial Service but I haven’t been back for there for a couple years. I’m so sorry, she will be missed.

I was fortunate to know Shelly and take a few road trips with her to Chicago and Marquette, absolutely a beautiful sole, she helped me do fundraising for special Olympics, a wonderful role model for my great nieces. You will be remembered and missed immensely aunt shel heaven gained another angel
