Service Details
His family will receive friends Friday, August 7, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home with Bob Fenwick officiating. He will be laid to rest in Moorepark Cemetery.

Patrick Allen Marunde Sr., 59, of Sherwood, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at Beacon Kalamazoo surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 14, 1967 in Three Rivers, the son of Albert and Shirley (Roberts) Marunde.
Patrick loved his family, especially his children. He relished the role of stay-at-home dad and was an amazing father who left his children with fond memories of bringing their dogs when they were puppies to pick them up from school, of Daddy daughter dances, of playing football in the back yard, and of riding go carts or the quad.
He enjoyed guitars, fishing, the outdoors, and slot car racing.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his mother, Shirley (Roberts) Burnham; companion of 23 years, Sarah Mullins; children, Patrick Marunde Jr., Ryan Rutter, Nathan Marunde, Nicholas Marunde, and Abbigail Marunde; grandchildren, Kiarra and Jacob; brother, Michael Marunde; and brother-in-law, Wayne Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Marunde, and sister, Bonnie Smith.

I have such fond memories of childhood years with Pat, as early as our kindergarten days, being neighbors on Mint Road. Pat was a little shy in those early years, but always friendly and kind. He wished me Happy Birthday two weeks ago and briefly reminisced about riding the bus together when we were five. His passing is one that hurts more than others, somehow. May his family find peace and comfort in their wonderful memories. Godspeed, Pat. 🕊️

I was saddened to hear of Patrick’s passing. After many years, we re-connected on social media. He told me that I influenced his learning to play guitar, and lifting weights when he was younger. I never knew. I remember him following me around when he was 4 years old all those years ago. After all the years he still referred to me as his uncle Willi, and I still called him my nephew. My sympathy goes out to his family at this time.
