Phyllis Jean Sears, age 73, of White Pigeon, MI died on April 19, 2022 at her home. She was born November 27, 1948 in Oak Park, IL, daughter of the late Donald & Marion Pieper. Phyllis graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1967. She married her best friend, Charles Sears, on December 15, 1988 and they enjoyed 34 wonderful years together.
Phyllis worked many jobs – typist, transcriptionist, pizza cook, retail, management and retired from Physic Source. She would tell you her greatest accomplishment were her children- James Wesley McEntire, Amanda Dawn McEntire, Rachael Jean (Hespe) Burns, and Sara Rose (Sears) Glide. She was also known for taking in and “adopting” any friends of her children who needed a safe place to land and was “mom” to many throughout her life.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crafting, writing poetry, and puzzles. She was an avid cribbage player and tough to beat.
She was a woman of strong faith and attended church at Faith Finders Fellowship.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, Chuck Sears, her children Rachael (Jason), Sara (Jeff), Jamie, her son-in-law, Mike, her grandchildren Faust, Serene, Kaid, Aurora, Robyn, and Hannah, her sister Georgia Outman, her brother Thomas (Audie) Pieper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Donald & Marion Pieper, brother Jeffrey Pieper, and her daughter Amy McEntire.
Phyllis will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and loving nature.
