Randy Cameron Jacobs joined his Lord Jesus on December 26th, 2024 after battling a lengthy illness.
Randy was born May 7th, 1957 to Robert C. Jacobs and Patsy (Gilliard) Jacobs at Paw Paw Hospital.
He attended Marcellus Schools and lived his early years there. He was always a hard worker and earned his money mowing lawns, newspaper delivery and working on his grandparents’ farm.
In June of 1975 he met the love of his life Sharon Butz and they married in August of 1977.

He owned and ran Jacobs Lawn Equipment for many years. He was known for John Deere tractor restoration and repair. Customers came to him from as far away as California. If it had an engine he could fix it.
Randy enjoyed the outdoors. Caring for their 5 acres in the woods and 2 large gardens kept them busy. The fall winter and spring Randy fell, cut, hauled and stacked wood which they used as the primary source of heat.
They spent summer vacations in Northern Michigan Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Both of them were interested in American history of the 1800s. A hobby turned into a small source of income as they were invited to appear as lectors at elementary, high schools and colleges as well. Civic clubs and parades were always on the schedule. They appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers as well as calendars and a book. A visit to Gettysburg he was interviewed by CNN.
Being involved with their church was very important to both of them and they were willing and able to share the love of Christ no matter where they were.

I worked with Randy at Owens Illinois. He was a super nice guy. He told so many stories of times when he was younger I’m sure he will be best greatly again. I’m sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear of Randy passing on. We worked together many times at Owens Illinois. We often talked about him racing motorcycles during his younger years. One of his favorite stories was when actor Steve McQueen made a comment about his riding ability between races. He didn’t really notice who made the comment, so he said, “and who do you think you are”. About that time, he looked up and realized who it was, they smiled and became friends. I know he will be missed by many.
My prayers are with you, Sharon and your family. Love you lady.
Thank you Ruth.
This means so. Much to me.
Love you too…🌹✝️🌹
Randy was a great guy we raised heck in Marcellus on our go carts and dirt motorcycle. We did our share of partying. Then we worked together for all the years he was at Owens Illinois. He borrowed my street bike and took Sharon and the rest is history. He will be missed. Prayers to his family and friends.

It all started when I was going to take you a ride on the motorcycle but Randy wanted to so I let.
Roger,
I remember it like it was yesterday. What fun we all had. Warren Dunes, Martin Rock Festival and just being young.
