Graveside services for Mr. Rodney Easterday and Ms. Molly Higgins will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peek Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Rodney James Easterday, age 73, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 29, 2021 following a lengthy illness. He was born on June 12, 1948 in Fawn River Township, the son of the late James Easterday and Gertrude Verglea (Hamm) Gotfryd.

Rodney has been a longtime resident of Three Rivers working as a truck driver at Weyerhaeuser Paper Company / International Paper for a total of thirty years before his retirement. Rodney was an avid golfer, scoring a hole in one on his birthday one year, and loved traveling with his longtime companion Molly Higgins who preceded him in death. Rodney also received his Associates of Applied Science in Business Degree from Glen Oaks Community College.

Rodney leaves to cherish his loving memory, one daughter, Erika (David Parkhill) Easterday of Kalamazoo, and one step-daughter, Heather (John) Kelly, of New Market, Alabama; 6 step-grandsons Ian (Sarah) Kelly of Joint Base Lewis McCord, Washington; Sheamus (Savannah) Kelly of Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Kieran, Declan, and Aidan, of Huntsville, Alabama; Justin Parkhill of Decatur, Michigan; one step-granddaughter Alicia Parkhill of Paw Paw, Michigan; 2 step-great-grandchildren Walter and Saoirse.

Donations in Rodney’s memory may be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Envelopes are available at and may be sent to Hohner Funeral Home.

  1. Rodney and Roger graduated together from Constantine High School in 1966. They were classmates for many years, It was always a pleasure to meet up with Rodney over the years for a friendly visit and a little reminiscing. With prayers for the comfort and peace for his family.

  2. Erika, I was so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was always a character and can still imagine hearing your Grandma and his bantering in the office. Please know I am thinking of you and your family during this time.
