Visitation will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers.

Obituary Notice

Russell Charles Hagenbuch, 76, of Centreville, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 at Bowman Place Assisted Living Community.

He was born April 13, 1945 in Three Rivers, the son of Samuel C. and Alma (Gottschalk) Hagenbuch.

Russell graduated from Three Rivers High School, where he played football and ran track.

After serving his country honorably in the United States Navy, he was a dedicated employee at White Pigeon Paper Company, from which he retired after 42 1/2 years.

Russell enjoyed making horseshoes for 20 years as a blacksmith, bowling, and watching his grandchildren play sports.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer (Glenn) Jankowski and Shelly (Rocco) Pavese; grandchildren, Kelly & Ashley Jankowski and Sophia & Alivia Pavese; brothers, George (Carol) Hagenbuch and Rich Hagenbuch; sister, Fay (Jack) Melchi.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as many aunts and uncles.

Additional Information

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Centrica Care Navigators. Envelopes are available at the funeral home in care of his arrangements.

  1. I am deeply saddened to learn that Russ has passed away. He always had a smile and extended a hand of friendship to all who came his way. My sadness is for his close family members and friends at this time of sorrow.   2. Family of Russ, my condolences to you all. Loosing a family member is always difficult especially when it is someone who you were very close. Your family has endured so much in the past few months. Hug one another and relish the time together.

      • Fay, Rich, George and Carol So sorry to see that Russ passed away. He was such a fun loving person and truly will be missed. I remember all the fun times we had at special dinners at my parents house..Russ and I always got black olives and stuck them on our fingers. Where has the time gone…seems like yesterday and now here we are..getting older and losing each other. Wish I could be there with all of you but have appointments I can not miss. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Russ!!! Love you cousin
