Service Details

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Greg Jennings Sr. officiating. A video of the service is available here.

Shamar Da’Syhon-Malik Barnes

May 23, 2001 – February 5, 2021

 

On Friday, February 5, 2021, Shamar was called back home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Shamar was the oldest son of Shandrell Robinson and Larry Barnes and came into the world on May 23, 2001 in Three Rivers, MI. As a baby Shamar was always so happy and bubbly putting a smile on anyone’s face. Shamar as a teen was also so eager to help look out for everyone he knew.

Aside from being a well-known jokester and a loveable friend, he was also an amazing older brother to his siblings Tyris Tyree’ Jennings, Gabrielle Rene Robinson, Tariq Marquell Robinson, Larry Barnes III, Lamontae Barnes, Elizabeth Wardell, Mahogany Ford, and William Wardell.

Shamar was an excellent student in Three Rivers Community Schools – which he graduated from in 2019. He was also a part of a school program called DECA – which is a business and marketing club, he was also involved in multiple sports such as: basketball, football which was one of his favorites, and he also participated in track and field. He enjoyed music, art, crafts and jewelry.

Shamar Barnes leaves to cherish his memory his mother Shandrell (Gilbert) Robinson of Elkhart, IN, and his father Larry (Shaquita) Barnes of Three Rivers, MI, his grandparents Michele (Louis) White, Darryl (Tiffany) Jennings of Kalamazoo, MI and Larry Sr. & Rosearl Barnes, his godparent Tia Dear, and a heavy host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
