Service Details

The Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Hohner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Derl Keefer officiating. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery following services.

Obituary Notice

Tonya Kay Brundige, age 55, of Three Rivers, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Dec. 25, 1965 in Three Rivers the daughter of the late John Jr. and Pauline (Crawford) Cline.

Tonya has been a life long resident of Three Rivers. She courageously worked her way up through the Three Rivers School System starting as a recess aide, moving to school secretary, and eventually retiring because of illness in 2019 as Head of Technology for St. Joseph County Schools. Tonya touched many lives both young and old during her career.

Tonya was an avid member of the Three Rivers Elks Lodge 1248 where she served multiple positions during her tenure and was an Exalted Ruler. She truly loved Elks children’s functions especially the Christmas party and Bike Rodeo.

Tonya was very independent and enjoyed playing piano, painting, ceramics, crocheting, and cooking for family and friends during special events. She loved her Harley Davidson. Most of all Tonya loved her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren…and all things Christmas.

Tonya was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Richard “Rick” Cline.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, three daughters, Leah (Keith) Salzman, Staci (Bryant) Haas, and Erika (Randy) Gose; one brother, Johnny (Kim) Cline III; nine beloved grandchildren, Lucas and Hayden Olivia Kay Salzman, Areanna, Deakon, and Miles Gose, and Brayden, Bayleigh, Landon, and Connor Haas. As well as the entire Gowan family.

  1. To Leah and your entire family: I was blessed to meet Tonya once in St. Louis and I knew right away she was a special woman. She sure raised some kick ass daughters, too. You all are an inspiration to us, and may you find peace knowing your mom is resting comfortably & watching down on you with a beautiful smile.   2. TC was always a friend— was maid of honor at my wedding in 83. Soo many memories from
    Back then. We didnt stay in touch much until facebook came along then i got to chat with her again and catch up on each others lives. Im going to miss those chats and will forever hold the memories in my heart. Until we meet again my friend, enjoy Heaven.

    This kind of makes it all final writing to you this way .
    I really wanted to see your Miracle for you , but who am I to say you haven’t received your Miracle….
    There is nothing more miraculous than Gods love ….
    Your with Mom and Dad again and Rick , and of course Shea ….
    Our family has always been very close and , and I take comfort that the chain that was once broken is now linked again….
    Come by and see us all from time to time , I know you will be thought of most of the time as you are missed by us all so much already ….
    I love you Tonya , you have been a good Sister and you have blessed our lives in so many ways ….
    I have watched you grow from a young girl of 13 on the Party line with Elise talking about boyfriend’s , parties and styles , not necessarily in that order .
    You must forgive me it’s been a while and my memory isn’t what it use to be ….lol
    I’m gonna miss hearing you laugh , and seeing your smiles as you watch your family in sweet contentment….
    You knew these babies are our true treasures in this lifetime….
    I thank you for the many years you helped to look out for our children , trying to find a way to make each one special….
    We’ve grown apart through the years living life and doing what we had to to keep it going on track …
    We forget what we had while growing up in the business of it all…
    I will try to give your girls and Grandbabies as many hugs as I possibly can , and when I do , I will hug them extra special tight for you ….
    Come by and see your Brother , his heart is truly crushed that your gone , and he feels the emptiness of being alone now that your gone ….
    I hate ending this letter to you Tonya as it’s almost the final act …
    Two more days and you won’t be here , it’s really kicking inore with each hour that passes ….
    We’re trying to buy your bike , your brother hasn’t wanted anything this bad since his Mustang….
    I know it’s because it meant so much to you ….
    The Girls gave me your boots , I will keep them warm and always try to walk in them as you would….
    I love you to the Heavens and back Sister , give Shea a big hug for me ….
    See ya when I get there , but don’t be looking too soon ….lol
