His family will receive friends Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Rich Saunders officiating. Military honors will be presented following services by the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170. He will be laid to rest in Moorepark Cemetery at a later date. Friends are encouraged to wear camouflage.

Tom’s family and friends will celebrate his life (and sense of humor, stubbornness, curiosity…) with a summer gathering at his home. Tom’s final gift was serving as a body donor to the Western Michigan University School of Medicine.

Dad did not want a funeral service. Although Dad appreciated a compliment as much as anyone, he was not one for any sort of public fuss. So we will respect his wishes and, as we have done (mostly) for many years, we will mind our Dad.
